photo of George Appiah Thanks for visiting my web site, Ghana-Travel-Guide.com, a new resource to help you plan your travel to Ghana, discover hidden treasures in Ghana, and to make the best of your time while you’re here in Ghana.

My name is George Appiah, and I’m your host and humble servant. I have lived (nearly) all my life in this tropical paradise that I call home, and I’m here to help you discover the wonderful gifts of nature that this little tropical paradise has in stock… waiting for you to explore.

Being a native AND resident Ghanaian, I have first hand experience with everything that I write about here, and I’m able to see the cultural twist to issues in a way that foreign writers cannot. What more can you ask for from a travel writer?

Whether you are traveling to Ghana for business, coming on a vacation with your family, or on a pilgrimage to connect with your ancestors… I’m here to help you effortlessly plan your trip to Ghana, and to ensure you have a memorable time while in Ghana.

While I hope to do so in the future, I currently do not lead tours in Ghana. But I’m more than willing to help you plan your trip, and to answer any questions you may have about Ghana. Click here to contact me now.

Getting to Know Me

I’m 30, going on to 31, as of this writing, and still trying to figure out this thing called life. I’m an aspiring… {father, writer, farmer, husband, publisher, …} — in that order. Currently my life is split between pursuing these aspirations, and earning my keep… the latter which I do through Amenfis LLC — my own company which helps Independent Professionals around the world leverage the Internet to grow their business.

I studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering for my first degree at the Kwame Nkurmah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. After college I had a brief but intense love-hate affair with corporate Ghana, beginning with an exciting year at Ghana’s Atomic Energy Commission, and ending with Scancom Limited (now MTN Ghana) and Ghana Telecom (now Vodafone Ghana) — two of the biggest cellular network operators in Ghana.

After 6 high-paying-but-soul-sucking jobs in 3 just years, I quit my last job in July 2005 and hit the road, beginning with a year-long voluntary service in Uganda. I’ve never looked back since, not even in dire times when my pocket has been full of empty for weeks.

When I’m not writing for this web site, I’m busy building award-winning web sites which get top Google ranking, and drive lots of visitors to my clients’ web sites. I also provide on-going technology and Internet Marketing support to help my clients double their sales and grow their businesses. If you’re contemplating a technology project in Ghana or elsewhere in Africa, you can draw upon my years of technical and local experience to get the job done quicker and cheaper.
